Little Athletics Queensland has a summer season and a winter season but Centres do not operate in both seasons. Your child will be participating at your local Little Athletics Centre. Our Centres may compete at different times of the day/week and we recommend that you contact the Centre to discuss specific details.

Events offered at a Centre competition are dependent on the athlete’s age and the Centre program for that week. Some events have age restrictions on them.

Our emphasis is on Family, Fun & Fitness. Children can join with any level of skill or fitness. Children are given plenty of encouragement to achieve personal bests (PB’s).

The cost varies from Centre to Centre. Many of our Centres structure their fees differently according to their operating costs and individual circumstances. Please contact your Centre to find out more information on their fees.

Little Athletics is a voluntary organisation, Centres cannot operate without the assistance of parents each week in fulfilling the many and varied duties required. These include officiating at an event; managing an age group; recording results; working in the canteen; to name just a few. Most Centres have parent duty rosters. Additional assistance is always required on the Centre committees and all parents are encouraged to become involved. Little Athletics is one of the few sports where parents can become fully involved in their child’s sporting interests.

All registered athletes must wear an approved Centre uniform when competing in Little Athletics competitions. A Centre representative will be able to tell you how much their uniforms cost.

Little Athletics Queensland conducts development clinics and coaching clinics throughout the season. Most Centres also have qualified coaches or parents who offer training session/s during the week.
